Sköll, sometimes spelled skoll, is the primary enforcer of a werewolf pack. The sköll and hati of the pack both enforce the will of the Ulfric and protect him. Like many other traditional lukoi words, the name comes from Norse mythology.
A pack member who wants to challenge Ulfric for the leadership of the pack must first fight their way to becoming first freki and then geri, before they can declare themselves as fenrir (before they issue their challenge) or freyja (after the challenge has begun). Hati and sköll cannot interfere with any of these fights despite being otherwise expected to throw themselves in front of any threat against their Ulfric. Moreover, tradition dictates that were the Ulfric to be defeated, the new Ulfric would also kill the previous sköll as a likely threat to their new rule.
